I took advantage of the format of the performative lecture to do a “dissertation on language, communication, methods and systems” that goes away from the linear and narrative structure of lectures.
Based on the methodological structure of the botanical metaphor of the Rizoma proposed by Deleuze and Guattari, this lecture established links between very different elements. Not only in its structure: the narrative was constituted by quotations, phrases and various notes that had not much relation between them, the images shown were also apparently unconnected: they were anodyne and everyday pictures of the visual language of the internet. The end of the lecture consisted on explaining that the images that were exposed were “stolen images” with a decryptor of wifi connections of the Instagram application to all my colleagues while they were not paying attention in class. That is, these were images consumed into procrastination moments of my colleagues, which were turning procrastination into a pro-active force for my work.
